Character Name: Revenna
Character Status: Playing Character, Active
Character Age: 38
Gender: Female
Title/Position/Occupation: Horse Breeder and Trader
Residence: Lycenae on Thyra
Physical Description: Revenna is of average height. Her work means that she is healthy and fit, tending to sinewy leanness and hard muscle rather than curves, and she carries herself with athletic pride. Her skin is suntanned and her face carries laugh lines and sun lines around eyes and mouth. She has curly dark hair that reaches just below her shoulder blades; most often, it's tied back in a knot at the back of her neck. Her eyes are dark and slightly uptilted. For work, Revenna prefers hard wearing, practical clothes, though they're of quality materials with a good cut. She does enjoy dressing up when it's appropriate, though. In general, whether work attire or dressed up, she prefers dark jewel tones.
Personality: Revenna takes great enjoyment in her life, whether in horse breeding, trading or riding, her extended family or her several affairs; if something comes up that she doesn't enjoy, she'll get rid of it quickly, either by doing the task herself or passing it on to someone else. "Life's short," she thinks, "so why waste time?" Revenna prefers directness over circumlocution, and the fastest way to annoy her is to be coy or dishonest. The former exasperates her; the latter will cause her to genuinely lose her temper.
Life Story: Revenna's family is modestly wealthy, with estates on both Thyra and Sinovia. The Thyran estates are a small horse trading compound, office and residence on the edge of Lycenae, and the larger horse farm a short distance further out. The Sinovian estate, run by Corsua, Revenna's mother, is the family's horsebreeding facility. The family trades in both "everyday" horses - no particular breed, of decent quality but nothing remarkable - and in their specialty, desert hotbloods. Their hotbloods are gradually becoming known as fine animals, with a good turn of speed and endurance and great beauty. But they're not easy to handle, being highly strung and nervous. Those with the requisite skills find they have a mount of great responsiveness.
Revenna was attracted by the family business early on - not just the art and skill of horse training and riding, but the art of horse trading as well. She loves her work wholeheartedly, and the Thyran end of the business prospers under her care as much as the Sinovian end thrives under her mother's hand. She is the only child of the family, and was not quite spoiled rotten as she grew up; the only thing that saved her was the awareness that she'd be inheriting the family business, and the responsibility that would bring. When Revenna turned 16, Corsua gradually began to hand small parts of the business to Revenna's hands; Corsua wanted to return to the family estates on Sinovia full-time and thought that Revenna would be able to take over the Lycenaean end. It did happen; when Revenna turned 30 she was in full control of the Thyran end of the operation, a well-respected horse trader with a good reputation for quality livestock. Revenna has had several affairs during her life, some short and some long, but she's never had any inclination to settle down long term with one partner.
