AZAN
Azan is an absolute monarchy. Its beliefs and practices are so opposite to Yamari's that these two nations have almost nothing to do with each other. The Azani are a patriarchal society. They believe that males are given a divine right to dominate females by their god, Horzan. Azani females have no rights and are little more than chattel.
Azan and Yamari relations occasionally break out into open war. More often, though, they hold to hostile neutrality. Slave traders from each nation will raid each other. Azani men make terrible slaves, for the most part. However, their very pale skin, white-blond hair and very blue eyes are rare on Yamari-settled worlds and considered very desirable. Wealthy Yamari women who like that sort of look and don't mind a challenge buy Azani slaves for their harems.
